Matt Burke is a central Florida-based singer/songwriter whose soulful mix of rock, folk, Americana, and funk has drawn comparisons to Andy Grammer, John Mayer and Ryan Adams. Burke initially honed his skills playing coffee shops, bars, and clubs in central Florida before moving to Chicago in 2008 to pursue a career in music. While actively involved in the Chicago music scene, Burke developed as a singer, songwriter and performer, playing many well-known music venues including the the Hard Rock Chicago, Navy Pier, and the Foundation Room at the House of Blues.
The Matt Burke Band was established in 2010 with the release of "Pretty Close to Very Good" - Burke's debut album. In 2014, Burke moved from Chicago back to Florida to focus on further developing a growing Florida fanbase. Upon returning to Florida, Burke paired up with keys player Leona Ellis: the two had grown up alongside each other in the central Florida public school system but had never played music together until Burke's return to the sunshine state. Today, Burke and Ellis are the core of The Matt Burke Band: the two maintain a consistent gig schedule throughout central Florida as a duo, trio, and full band.
The MBB EP - the new album from the Matt Burke Band -was released in January of 2018 and is available through all major outlets.
